Who We Are
The Division of Mortgage Lending is a regulatory agency housed
within the Department of Business and Industry. The Division has the authority and responsibility to oversee five different licensing and regulatory programs. These programs include mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, mortgage agents, mortgage servicers, and escrow companies and agents. The Division also administers one registration program primarily related to non-depository mortgage lending activity.
The Division does not regulate the mortgage related business of
banks, savings banks, trust companies, savings and loan associations. Also not under the Divisions control are industrial loan companies, credit unions, thrift companies, or insurance
companies. If the business of these companies is not supervised by an appropriate regulatory authority in Nevada, the Division would have control responsibility.
